OUR STORY -
WHAT SETS US
APART
In 1998, during a family trip to Auckland, Pastor Chris Sola clearly heard the voice of the Lord speak to his heart: "Chris, isn't Auckland a huge harvest field?" That simple yet profound question marked the beginning of a divine calling - a call to leave their home in Stokes Valley, Lower Hutt, and move to Auckland to plant a new work for the Kingdom of God.
With the blessing of their spiritual covering, the Hosanna World Outreach Centre, Taita, Lower Hutt, Pastors Chris and Seira Sola, along with their three children—Blessed, Faith, and Serenity—and a small team of twenty dedicated church members, stepped out in faith and relocated to Auckland. Their hearts were full of vision and purpose, determined to follow the call of God.
On 16 April 2000, that vision took root with the planting of The Dream Centre Church -originally established as Hosanna World Harvest Church under the Baptist Union of New Zealand. From its humble beginnings in South Auckland, the church moved through various venues over the years, including Chapel Downs Primary School, Genesis Theatre in Manukau, and several sites in Manurewa and Pakuranga. Since 2015, the church has been located at 154 Kolmar Road in Papatoetoe, serving as a spiritual home for a growing and vibrant multicultural congregation.
Over time, The Dream Centre Church expanded its reach, planting new churches both locally and internationally - in Apia (Samoa), Owairaka (Mt Roskill), New Lynn, North Shore, Ramarama, Pukekohe, and Dannevirke. In 2015, the church became an independent fellowship, and in 2019, it officially joined the Assemblies of God New Zealand movement.
As a multicultural Pentecostal church, The Dream Centre is deeply committed to the authority of God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that God still heals, performs miracles, and speaks today through the gifts of the Spirit—including speaking in tongues. We affirm the operation of the fivefold ministry gifts in the church and uphold the biblical teaching of the priesthood of all believers.
Our mission is simple, yet profound: to preach the gospel, make disciples, and plant churches. We believe the gospel is the message of Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection -and that true discipleship is built on Christ’s call to deny oneself and live sacrificially.
We embrace a twofold Discipleship Pathway:
The Greek Model: Maturity through Knowledge
– People grow by what they know. Our structured pathway includes courses like Christianity 101, Discipleship 201, Leadership 301, Maturity 401, and Missions 501—all of which are Christ-centred teachings available online for new believers.
The Jewish Model: Maturity through Relationships
– People also grow through connection. Our Connect 4 Discipleship Groups help build strong, godly relationships as we journey together in faith and community.
The Dream Centre Church is overseen by an Eldership of seven, supported by a wider Leadership Team made up of pastors and ministry leaders. We serve every generation through our Children’s, Youth, Young Adults’, Men’s, Women’s, Families’, and Worship ministries.
Our Sunday service begins at 10am and is broadcast weekly both locally on Shine TV (New Zealand) and internationally through TBN Pacific (Australia). We are financially supported solely by the free-will giving of our church members and generous partners.
Whether you’re seeking a church home, exploring faith, or considering supporting us in prayer or finances - we hope our story has inspired you. We invite you to connect with us and discover how God may be leading you to be part of this journey.
With love and blessings,
Pastors Chris and Seira Sola

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
1.To Proclaim the Gospel
We are committed to boldly sharing the life-changing message of Jesus Christ with all people—locally and globally. Through preaching, outreach, media, and compassionate acts of love, we declare the hope, healing, and salvation found in Christ alone. Our desire is that every heart hears the Good News and encounters the transforming power of God.
2.To make Disciples
We believe the call to follow Jesus includes a lifelong journey of growth and obedience. At The Dream Centre, we intentionally invest in teaching, mentoring, and equipping believers to become mature disciples—people who live out their faith, serve with purpose, and lead others to do the same. Discipleship is not a program; it’s a way of life rooted in the Word and empowered by the Spirit.
Our Church Constitution outlines the foundational principles, governance structure, and biblical values that guide The Dream Centre Church NZ. Download it to gain insight into our mission, leadership, and commitment to integrity and accountability.
3. To plant new Churches
Our mission doesn’t end with our own congregation—it multiplies. We are passionate about expanding the Kingdom of God by planting new churches in communities where the Gospel is needed. Each church we plant is a light in its city, a place of worship, growth, and outreach, led by trained and empowered leaders who carry the heart of the vision forward.
